Privacy notice
Litho processes the media and subtitles you choose on your Mac. It does not upload them to a transcription or translation service.
Who to contact
Litho is maintained by an individual developer. For privacy questions or requests, email xizhouh@gmail.com.
Data on your Mac
Settings, file-access bookmarks, processing records, models and temporary processing files are stored locally. Litho does not require an account, use an advertising identifier, or include a tracking or third-party analytics SDK. Media, subtitle text, processing history and personal file paths are not sent to the model download services.
Paused or failed work may retain intermediate files for recovery. Completed work removes processing intermediates. You can remove records from the list, or reset the app in Settings. Resetting keeps original media and exported subtitles; when removing a record, the app separately asks whether to move its exported subtitles to the Trash. Backups and copies outside Litho follow their own retention settings.
Model downloads
Initial setup needs model files. Downloads and source checks send a network request to the selected source and its delivery providers. These providers receive information such as your IP address, the resource file requested, request time and request headers. This is separate from processing your media.
Hugging Face model downloads use its official source by default. Some models and license files use GitHub URLs fixed in the signed manifest. Sources you add or previously chose can also be used for downloads and source checks. Hugging Face’s privacy policy describes its request logs, use and retention. GitHub’s privacy statement explains how it handles request data. If you select a custom source, its operator and delivery providers handle those requests under their own policies. A third-party mirror is not an official Hugging Face service. Litho cannot delete records held independently by those operators; contact the relevant provider for those requests.
Model files are verified using signed manifests and checksums. Processing code and the Python runtime are included in the application; the app does not install Python packages or download remote Python model code.
Permissions and diagnostics
Litho accesses files and output locations that you choose. It does not require microphone, camera, screen recording, contacts, location, Accessibility or Full Disk Access permission. Quitting the app stops processing.
Litho does not automatically upload analytics or use a third-party crash-reporting SDK. macOS may share diagnostics with Apple and developers according to your system analytics settings. You control that sharing in System Settings.
Support email
If you contact the developer, your email address, message and attachments are used to answer your request and resolve the reported issue. The mailbox is hosted by Google; its privacy policy applies to its handling of email. Do not send private media unless it is necessary and you have the right to share it.
Correspondence is kept while needed to handle the request, maintain necessary support records or meet applicable legal obligations. You can ask for access, correction or deletion using the contact above. Requests are assessed according to applicable law; relevant records may need to be retained where a legal obligation requires it. If applicable, you may also complain to your local data protection authority.
This website
This static support site uses Cloudflare Pages for delivery. It has no analytics scripts, advertising, account system or contact form, and does not set its own cookies. The hosting provider receives network request data needed to deliver and secure the site. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy. Clicking an email or external link opens the service you select, whose privacy practices may differ.
Support and delivery providers may process requests in other countries. Their policies describe their processing locations and safeguards. The local subtitle-processing feature does not send your media to them.
